L'Oréal

They are the largest cosmetics company in the world. They have loads of brands from Garnier, L'Oréal and have huge research facilities in respect of cosmetics. Just because they're the biggest doesn't mean they're the best. Equally, just because they're the biggest doesn't mean they're evil. I've tested loads of L'Oréal stuff ranging from WOW this should be on the NHS to Oh my golly gosh-this is dreadful.

WHAT IS IT

A L'Oréal eye shadow. A rather fetching 'little beige dress' colour. I'd say it's more suited to under 40. It's a modern beige tone which looks lovely on.

Soft creamy eye shadow fell apart in transit, then spilled out because the case does not snap closed securely, 5 Jan. 2016

L'Oreal Color Riche Mono eye shadow - Little Beige Dress (no. 206) - RRP 5.99

Having experimented with all sorts of good, bad and indifferent make-up ranges, for the past decade I've stuck with MAC eye shadows which come in fabulous colours, apply smoothly and stay on really well - and don't break up in transit. However, they are quite expensive, especially if you need two or three to complete a particular look. Therefore, I've also used much cheaper option Sleek, which come in a great range of colours too. So I was pleased to try L'Oreal eye shadow to see how it compares. Unfortunately, though the eye shadow itself was okay, it fell apart in the post and spilled everywhere.

The eye shadow was posted securely in a sturdy card envelope inside a sealed plastic pocket. However, inside the plastic pocket, some of the eye shadow had spilled out; this may be because the eye shadow case closes but does not snap closed tightly. For that reason, it would not be good to...

Firstly clearly there is some sort of issue here as we have been asked to test and review this product and alot of people have received a smashed up shadow, I am included in this and its a real shame as it could really put me off purchasing items like this from Amazon if this is how they arrive!? I am sure L'Oreal wouldn't be impressed with this. However, rant over. This does not affect my opinions of the actual product for review. The box is pretty and golden and presented well, the shadow is beautiful and feels lush and luxurious and glides on, its like a cream which turns to powder and is silky smooth, I loved this!! The colour is a golden shimmery beige, this goes with pretty much any other colour you are using to create your look, there is a shimmery look to this, but I found it really brightened up my eyes and gave a gentle sparkle rather than a fully on shimmer. This is something that could be different on everyone as skin tone would clearly play a role in this. I would...
