WHAT IS A NIGHT CREAM

There are two types.
A: Anti-Ageing (also be called firming, anti-wrinkle and lifting.) These typically contain active ingredients. They help your skin replenish which can reduce age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. Careful though: they cab irritate some sensitive skins.
B: Deep Moisture (also called ultra-hydrating, deep nourishing and restorative.) These creams use higher levels of emollients so they moisturise more than a day time moisturiser.

Facial oils have reemerged as a trend in recent years with many price points from supermarket to super high end offering their own ampoules of oils, and a good one is a fantastic treat for any aged skin. The only problem for many women but especially older women is the skin-feel of an oil and the risk of 'running' especially into the eyes which is exacerbated by crinkles and lines.
L'Oreal have tried to offer a balance of the feeding and nourishment of a facial oil, but with the lesser likelihood of stinging eyes through a balm. The only shame and hence a star off is the high concentration of mineral oil (3rd ingredient) in what is largely otherwise a natural oils packed goody of a balm. Some people this won't be a problem for, but mineral oil does very little for skin other than coat it and be a super-cheap carrier/bulker for cosmetics companies and many people with skin sensitivities will find it cloying and cause irritations.

Beautifully package in a brown glass jar with gold screw top, it looks very classy. This cream is a warm buttery/orange colour and is very, very thick, almost like a paste, so much so it is not the easiest to apply.
It's specifically designed as a night cream which is not a bad thing as it looks greasy and shiny, and is not absorbed easily into the skin. In fact, there are still traces of it on my face in the morning, and I do wonder how much of it is actually on my pillow. It has a very faint, but pleasant, fragrance, but I do admit to having a very poor sense of smell, so that could be my inability to detect it.
I've not been using it long enough to notice an discernible difference; I'm lucky because, although now in my mid-60's I still have fairly smooth wrinkle-free, skin, so it may be it won't make a difference at all. If I wake up one morning and see my eighteen-year old self looking back at me I shall let you know.
