Contains plastic microbeads which are a serious pollution hazard, 18 Oct. 2015

I am concerned that this product contains plastic microbeads which get flushed into drains and eventually end up in rivers, lakes and the sea - These are dangerous to the environment and a serious pollution hazard. They are so small they can be ingested by marine animals and introduce toxins into the food chain.If you care for the environment you will avoid any product that contains microbeads.

They are the largest cosmetics company in the world. They have loads of brands from Garnier, L'Oréal and have huge research facilities in respect of cosmetics. Just because they're the biggest doesn't mean they're the best. Equally, just because they're the biggest doesn't mean they're evil. I've tested loads of L'Oréal stuff ranging from WOW this should be on the NHS to Oh my golly gosh-this is dreadful.

CONS

it contains microbeads and it's uncertain if they're bad for the environment. However, have stated, "L'Oréal commits to phase out all polyethylene microbeads from its scrubs by 2017"

so it may contain an alternative. I'm not sure

This exfoliator is part of the Skin Perfection range and contains microbeads, which gently rub against the skin, but do cause pollution. I would prefer that companies use more natural products and was not aware of the serious threat to the oceans and rivers caused by microbeads before, but would certainly stay away from such products in future.That aside, and you can make up your own mind about this issue, this gel comes in a tube and is peach coloured. It also has quite a strong, peach scent. The gel feels a little gritty, due to the microbeads, but lathers well. It is pleasant to use and leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh. Some such exfoliators can feel really rough, but this is comfortable to use, although I found the scent a little strong. Overall, a reasonable product, but there are similar products on the market which are better for the environment.
