I found these things not strong enough to cut through my toe-nails although it could be that they are not sharp enough. They may be okay if your toe-nails are softer than mine. I've gone back to my clippers.

Very sharp!, 6 July 2014
Wow! these are sharp! Toenails can be really tough for scissors, especially the big toe but these had no problems with mine. Straight blades so results will never be perfectly manicured nails but if you have bending problems - I am running-in a new hip - and just want to keep the nail growth under control they are fine.Good bottom-line price too.
