I used to own an electric haircap a few years ago and my hair was in the best condition ever. I left it behind when I moved country, so a few years later bought an Aphrodite hair cap. It worked two times then died. So I bought this. I wish I had bought one first, these are great! First, you can move around, unlike with the electric versions. But what I like best is the way you can wrap this to achieve a very snug fit. Both electric caps I had did not do this so some areas of the head were warmer than others. With this cap, you heat it in the microwave or boil the gel packs, fit the cap and then secure the flap on top of the head. As long as the packs are heated evenly (which depends on your microwave I guess, I've actually found the 5min boiling method better) your scalp/hair is heated evenly.
