B4: The perfect travel brush, 12 Sept. 2017

I've had a Mason Pearson B1M large military pure bristle brush for over 10 years, easily the best brush I've ever owned. Apart from losing a few bristles round the edges from serious abuse being squashed into rucksacs for travelling, it is still in perfect shape and will probably last me the rest of my days (I am a man in my 50s).

I bought the B4 not so much to spare the B1M the abuse when travelling but because I wanted something smaller. I wasn't sure if such a small brush would be up to coping with my long hair, but does so admirably. It's far smaller in area and the bristles are shorter, so brushing my hair takes a little longer, but the bristle density appears to be the same and - most importantly - the bristles are just as stiff so they tease their way through the tangles where cheap brushes either snag or simply glide over the top.

One curious discovery, it being so long since I've used a brush with a handle, the handle allows a lot more force so I find I pull my hair...

Best brushes I have ever had, 7 May 2014

I was introduced to these brushes when I trained as a hairdresser many years ago and still use them. They last and last and are so good for the hair and scalp. A good brush is worth its weight in gold and this is a good brush. If you have thin hair use this brush rather than a comb as it will help strengthen your hair and stimulate the hair follicles. .

What a lovely brush I got there!.I'm very happy with this brush as I was struggling for a long time to find a brush that supports my hair.I have shoulder long very thin hair but quite a lot of it so it is very prone to build little nests and knots in the back of my head after a long day.The brush get's through my hair fairly easy without pulling out to many hairs or causing pain working though the knots. I'm also convinced it reduces the static of my hair but in winter with all the wool jumpers and scarves I wear it's hard to tell.Only minus point which does not impact the quality of the brush is that there was no cleaning brush included. Not sure if the size of the brush matters to get a cleaning brush but for the price of this one I would have expected to get the cleaner as well.
