Not worth the hype - 3-year UPDATE!, 10 Mar. 2014

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I chose this rating (3/5) because so far, it's the best brush I've ever had. However, I do not agree with the fact that it does not tug on the hair "at all", but does so at a low degree. I think I will need some time to get used to this brush as the nylon bristles do penetrate the head scalp, and are quite stiff. Overall it's a good product, whether it was worth the money or not: I will find out.

I have now used this product for almost 3 years, and have come back to add to my original review.

The Junior Mason & Pearson bristle and nylon brush is, in my opinion, overrated. It is okay, it serves its purpose, but is far from perfect. What I like about it is that it is good quality, and the bristles have stayed in the same condition as when I first received this product. The brush is nice to look...

Perfect for handbag & taking away., 6 May 2017
I have a full size Mason Pearson Bristle & Nylon brush. I was so pleased with it that I wanted a smaller version to keep in my handbag & to take away on holiday etc. This Junior brush fits the bill perfectly. I get all the quality of my full size brush, but a more compact version.I find my hair feels much softer and smoother than with previous brushes I have owned. I would recommend cleaning the brush with the official brush cleaner. This looks like a rectangular hair brush, but it gets right down to the base of hair brush to clean out all the loose strands of hair.

Prior to giving this item as a gift, checked through the points in babydoc21's review (on 15 Aug. 2014) to convince myself it was the real deal. The item and packaging both attest to it being genuine. The recipient was very happy with the brush. As a note, the nylon bristles are actually quite sturdy, almost sharp, so in the future I may be tempted to go for the pure boar bristle version.
