This is a good, solid lip liner pencil that goes on smoothly and provides a defined line around the lips to stop lipstick colour from feathering or bleeding. Alternatively, the pencil can be used to shade in the lips to provide a base for lip colour or lipgloss. The colour is a mid pinky peach colour that's just a fraction paler than my own lips, so provides a good outline for daytime looks (light to medium lip colours, nudes, lip glosses and lip balms).

The consistency is just right: not so hard it won't go on and not so soft it smudges. To use as a lip liner, I start with the centre of my upper lip and draw a line up and outwards using short feathered strokes to build up the line, then repeat on the bottom lip. To provide a base for lip colour or lipgloss, first outline the lips then fill in with lip pencil working from the outside in, then apply lipstick or lipgloss as normal...

I adore Maybelline lipsticks,and I chose a 'velvet beige lip liner' as the texture & colour looked to be perfect. Unfortunately though the texture was great.the colour was a dark orangey colour,not beige at all.Be careful girls the screen seems to make shades look iffy,but no way could anyone describe this pencil as beige lol :(

This is an excellent lip liner. The colour is Sweet Pink and, although the packaging suggests the colour is intense, I found it quite a neutral, pink colour. That is, it will blend with most pink lipsticks – as long as you do not apply it too strongly. It blends well and stops lipstick from bleeding.With some lip liners you need to press down too firmly. I found this very easy to apply and thought it looked natural and helped keep shape looking good throughout the day. For the price, this is an excellent product, which does the job well and is a useful addition to my make up bag.
