MY Go-To Razor, 30 Mar. 2016

This is an excellent DE Razor; a perfect choice for the beginner or even the seasoned wet shaver. I started shaving with this razor after watching several reviews on YouTube. Since then I have suffered somewhat from shinyitis and have bought three other razors (a Feather ASD2, a Feather artist club straight razor and an Edwin Jagger DE89). The Merkur 34C HD still remains my favourite go to razor. I would also recommend buying either Astra or Personna Blue blades for this.

A great DE shaver!, 10 April 2016

I've been wet shaving using cartridges for more years than I care to admit. Saw this product on Amazon; checked out all the reviews (both on here and YouTube); this came highly recommended so I bought one - just wish I'd done this a lot sooner! This gives a really great shave (I have a tough beard so I make two passes - which only adds an extra couple of minutes). Very easy to use, very safe - the weight is just right for me, you don't need to exert any real pressure, just let the blade do the work. But it's still a different razor to cartridges, so take it steady at first while you work out the right angles and amount of pressure - but this great shaver will make that all very easy for you. If you're thinking of switching to a DE then I thoroughly recommend this shaver - and think of all the money you'll save on those cartridges! Just waiting on my Astra blades now and will be buying Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream - if you're going to buy a great shaver, then it pays to get...

Small heavy razor, feels good in the hand, gives a great shave., 14 Mar. 2016

I got this after reading the shaving forums (who knew that there were people testing DE blades from around the world?) looking for a good starting DE razor. I'm just stepping up from a Wilkinson Classic that I got for £8 years ago. The first couple of shaves felt really good, glide rather than pull and much more precise (I'm shaping a beard). I thought for a while about the handle length, but decided to go short and I don't regret it. The main thing for me was the weight which I felt would help with the shave, and I believe it did. It's such a personal thing but I'd recommend this as a good entry point for DE shaving, I'm pretty sure this is what I'll be using for the next decade.
