However cheap something is you still expect it to have some sort of reasonably acceptable utility value. These clippers are, at 6cm long, much too small and slipped out of my normally tactile grip when I tried to cut my finger nails. On some nails I had to resort to tearing the bit of nail off as the cut had not been fully accomplished. I got these clippers as the idea of the slanted edge seemed a good, innovative, idea. Nope, I found that they contributed to me making a mess of cutting my finger nails. They are far too small to get a decent purchase. The small size with it's polished surface makes them slip in your grip and they just don't accomplish a neat, tidy, cut. I've gone back to my normal pair of clippers that are much more substantial and cut my nails as clippers ought to. I believe that these slant edged clippers are substandard and no better than a novelty item that you might find as a present in a Christmas cracker. The price is a bit of an indication as to what to expect...

As an enthusiastic pianist, keeping my nails short and in good condition is vital. I have a range of clippers, scissors and files and bought this one simply because it appeared to offer something slightly different.The unit is quite small and, although it is well-made and the blades are sharp, it probably wouldn't do for cutting toenails or particularly thick fingernails. I find it useful as a supplementary ciipper for getting into awkward corners and fine tuning the cut from a larger set of clippers.It seems to work almost like a cross between clippers and nail scissors, encouraging the user to take the clipping in one piece, rather than in a couple of pecks. What it does, it does well and, as part of a range of clipping tools, it is a useful little item.
