I was told by the Microsoft rep in John Lewis that the surface edition was recalled as they weren't selling with that specific branding, hence why the new all black one is just Bluetooth. Apparently exactly the same but different packaging.
It's a very portable, comfortable, easy to use design. Unfortunately it does not work for those who use window 7, you need windows 8 and up, and laptops without Bluetooth 4.0.
To check if you have bluetooth 4.0 go to control panel>device manager> bluetooth > microsoft LE enumerator
If you're missing the LE it means you have the older version of bluetooth.
I don't recommend this for mac users because you need to turn on bluetooth AND airdrop and it doesn't scroll as smoothly as a windows PC.

First Impressions Count, well yes, BUT if you have had the product before and you have used it for 3 years. would expect the same great build quality! YES or NO?
Well, I brought the original Microsoft RVF-00051 Arc Touch Mouse back in 2012, thinking it was a Bluetooth, but it was BlueTrack mouse + USB wireless adapter - Microsoft's attempt to confuse the world as usual. So after 3 years continuous use of the original Arc Mouse, I wanted to get a Bluetooth version as my latest computer suffers a lack of USB ports, also as its just gone down in price from £55 to a WOW £29.60 I thought best grab one before they all disappear!
Right, just unboxed the device, which from past experience doesn't need a lot of understanding how good it should be! But, then too my surprise besides the colour change from Black to Dark Grey, there are a few changes...

The idea behind the Microsoft Arc Touch Bluetooth Mouse is great, but it didn't work out like I imagined. The mouse was well packaged and included documentation, batteries and was easy to set up. So far, so good.
The mouse is very portable and has a clever design. To turn it off you flatten it. To turn it on you bend it. I love that! Using the mouse however is a little awkward. I almost always try to rest my fingers on the side of the mouse, but, there isn't a side, it's floating. That gets annoying after a while. Also, after a few months the mouse seemed to cut off from time to time and requires you to turn off and turn on the mouse to make it start working again, again that get annoying.
The mouse provides some haptic (vibration) feedback when using the scroll wheel, which is nice. You can also download a 'modern' Windows app on Windows 8 and later, that you can use to control the mouse. You can choose if you want vibration when scrolling and a host of other...
