I spent hours mulling over the colour choices, already having Bare Minerals very expensive starter set bought on a plane. That came with Medium Beige, which I very much like. I have fair, ageing skin and live in a hot climate.

I finally decided on 3 different shades from this excellent vendor (3 for 2 deal at the time): her version of Medium Beige, Warm Sand and Medium 2. Amazon has confused the colour names here and combined the first 2, so I shall review both.

These 3 colours are all very similar and all work well as a base with a bronzer to sculpt, look more natural and avoid the mask look. Having said that, there really isn't a mask effect, unlike cream foundations which I shall never use again!

They also have quite effective sun screen properties although I habitually wear SF50 anyway (and still tan).

Warm Sand seems a little lighter on my skin than Medium Beige, which is a warmer colour and more suitable for my colouring. Sand, and the Pale Sand sample I...

Using the seller's 3 for 2 offer, I bought Warm Sand, Warm Olive and Light Olive - I'm not sure, but I don't think the 'Warm Medium Sand' listed actually exists. The medium and beige shades I'd tried before (this range and Bare Minerals) seemed slightly too pink for my colouring - even though I'd not thought of my skin as having yellow tones before - and having received, and liked, a sample of Light Olive with a previous order, thought I'd give these shades a go.

I found Warm Sand perfect for through the summer and now that autumn has arrived I've moved onto Warm Olive. Light Olive is still a little pale for me, but come the winter months I'm sure the pot will get used. Something I've noticed is that when you hit upon the right shade, the foundation's coverage seems to improve dramatically. It's definitely worth experimenting, and the free samples that the seller kindly includes help take out some of the guess work.
