Suitable first set for young girls, 19 Mar. 2016

This is a lightweight plastic hair styling set. Mine is in pink, and it's more of a deep rose than a bright pink - but would be ideal for a girl, teenager or any female really. It's quite a basic little set. There is no way to set an exact temperature, but you do have two settings "low" and "high". I would always recommend anyone no familiar with hair heating start off carefully on low - as overheating can damage hair.

I had no problem using the straightener on high, but unfortunately couldn't get enough heat output on low. I struggled a little with the curler as I have very thick hair and the curling brush is quite small. If you have thick or long hair it would take a long time to curl an entire head. I think it would work well on fine hair, and this is one of the reasons I think this is more suited to girls. The flat brush is good and even on low I think that this dries and styles well.

I was pleased to note this 3 in 1 hair styler I received for review purposes was packed with care in a nice box, and my first impression was that it must contain a solidly built product. I was disappointed that on unpacking the handle and its 3 attachments I found them made totally of what appears to be lightweight plastic and not really robust looking. However they do exactly as claimed by Amazon product information, and with sweeping movements or flicking and different levels of pressure applied it is possible to create both curling and straightening of either wet or dry hair.

I was somewhat disturbed to find that though sold as a product from ‘Jack & Rose’ there is no mention of this on the box – but the product is in the expected pink colour. No accompanying user manual or instruction leaflet is supplied, but information on the box identifies attachments as a wide brush, a jumbo roller and a clip pipe. I have a 7-year-old daughter who has the most amazing long thick hair and loves to style it. She is always asking to borrow my curling tongs so I thought it was time to let her have her own set. I ordered this product so that she could have her own hair styling products. The fact that it is pink was a huge selling point. It arrives in a good looking retail box so would make a great gift. It is a 3-in-1 hair styler. You get the actual styler as well as three detachable fittings enabling you to create a variety of styles. The pieces are all quite lightweight, perfect for my daughter to use. It is exactly what I expected for £19.99. You get a tong attachment allowing you to create perfect curls, a round brush which adds volume and a flay brush which can be used to straighten hair. My daughter used these items under supervision with good results. She was quite happy to curl her own hair. I was offered this product at a reduced price in return for my honest review.
