Using this as a makeup primer, the glycerin content leaves a tacky and smooth surface for foundation application. I'm pretty sure most people reading this review will be thinking 'well I'm sure that'll mean nothing to me after shaving my stubble', but if someone has stumbled across this needing another use for it - BRILLIANT primer. Try it.

Nivea for men - Outstanding after shave balm - great for other dry skin too, 10 Aug. 2014

Winter time is such a pain in the... face... ya know?! Everything dries out, and shaving becomes a sensitive experience.

My wife works in the cosmetics area of a major retail store and she asked her colleagues for their opinion on products that might be able to help reduce my post-shaving sensitivity and redness, and this Nivea product was clearly the one most recommended. She got it... and I can tell you that it works, and that it works right away -- immediately on application.

This stuff is not thick or sticky at all, it is light and thin so a little bit goes a very long way. My skin just seems to soak it right in, and there is no greasy feeling or residue. It has a light fragrance that is not as strong as a fragranced after shave or cologne and is pleasant.

An added unexpected benefit is that this does a great job on other dry skin areas; this time of the year, my hands sometimes get a little dry and sensitive, as can the front of my shins. A little...

No irritation, 7 Nov. 2010

I use an electric shaver and seem to always get shaving rash but since I have used nivea for men shaving gel for my coolskin shaver and then this product I do not get irritation anymore. Excellent, soothing and cooling product that i will definitely be buying again and again. Put cold water on your face before you apply this so your pores close and this will work everytime.
