The packaging is appalling. The heads barely fit the shaver and the old blades give a cleaner shave. Never again

Mediocre at best, 15 July 2011

After my previous shaving head broke over 12 months ago I reverted to an older razor rather than replace the heads on my Arcitec shaver. Finally I relented and replaced the shaver head unit. The Norelco brand is simply the name Phillips uses in the USA so no one need be apprehensive about the quality.

Unfortunately the performance of the blades can be described as mediocre at best. Despite shaving for over 5 minutes the head never produces a close cut and my 5 year old razor still gives better results with it's original cutting blades!

I was not impressed with the Arcitec razor after purchase, describing the product as design over substance. Sadly the replacement shaving head has not altered my opinion one iota, and effectively the purchase has been a waste of money. I still finish my shave with my old razor after first using these blades.

Just what I wanted, 6 July 2011

I purchased this as a replacement cutting head for a Philips Arcitec model rq1060. It fits the unit perfectly - the only difference that I could see between this head and the one that the razor came with is that the crimped tube at the base of the cutting head that clips into the razor handle is made of plastic on this whereas it was made of metal on the one the razor came with. However, I doubt this would be a problem, as you shouldn't need to be taking it off and on anyway. My husband has been using it for a few weeks now, and he is very happy with it. I bought it from Discount Warehouse as they had the best price inc. postage when I bought it - I was perfectly happy with their service.
