At just under a fiver for over 200 grams this represents better than average value for an artisanal soap, with the added cachet of being made in Portugal (if I read the small print correctly). In hard Wiltshire water it lathers well and generally does what soap is supposed to do. The scent isn't all that strong on my jaded nose - but then, as I use it in the shower, maybe that's to be expected. I am still on a quest for a soap that will still leave a fragrance on the skin the next morning but, that reservation aside, this soap performs as well as 'famous name' products that cost a lot more per 100g and perform no better. Easily 4 stars plus. I may actually buy a second bar when this one runs out. I just hope they don't get carried away and start charging niche prices.
