This is the Nicky Clarke Super Shine Tong.It is an Ionic Steam conditioning to hydrate & nourish hair.It has 25mm barrel for curls and waves.The steam function emits steam for all heat settings.It has a variable temperature control from 130-210 degrees to suit all hair types.It also has a lock function for selected temperature for maximum control whilst styling.The tong has a 60 minute auto shut off safety function.It is a very well made product, endorsed by a celeb hair stylist.Overall I like this product.It would make a very good present.

My wife's a professional stylist si when these popped up they had to be selected. The following are her words...

Wow. I'm genuinely impressed by these amazing tongs. From the look & feel of them to the results they produce.

As a professional hairdresser I wasn't expecting much but I was wrong. They look really classy, black with bronze/gold minimal highlighting around the temperature & control area. The electrical cord swivels so doesn't tangle & is extra long which is really helpful. The barrel is quite large so not great for short hair but my hair is very long, I have masses of it & it's notoriously difficult to curl but I have beautiful, soft curls.

The steam holes are only under the section that secures the hair during the wrapping process so no inadvertent scorching from hot steam. The water reservoir is quite large so you don't need to top up too regularly. It also spins like the cord so there's more control whilst wrapping the hair...

A celeb product that is actually good?, 9 Sept. 2016

From experience I have found that most celebrity-endorsed products are

mid-range and overpriced. Therefore, selling at £40 I did not expect much from the Nicky Clarke SS Tongs.

I was pleasantly surprised by the overall feel of the product - all the materials are of high quality and the finish is impeccable. The design is modern and wouldn't look out of place in a salon. Ergonomically this is also well thoughtout, with a nice grip and a non-tangle cord which is also of a very good length (9ft / 3m). This is a narrow diameter set of tongs, so at 25mm/1 inch you are going to get tight curls (obviously), although the barrel is a standard 12.5cm/5 inch.. There is a lock function to control temperature and a 60-sec off safety feature, both of which are genuinely useful.

On to the most important part; how good is it for curling hair? The steam is delivered only to the area under the grip which was annoying at first but I soon found this precision useful and not a...
