I was keen to try this but had real doubts about this product as I have bought similar hot brush type things before which have gone in a cupboard and never come out.
My hair is extremely thick, always dry and frizzy, if not kept well under control. My usual method is to use flat iron straighteners. It has a. 3 pin plug so in I plugged it. The temperature can be altered to what suits your hair best which is good but as always I needed the hottest temperature which is 230 degrees. You hold the on button for about 3 seconds and the temperature screen lights up blue. You then set them to the temperature you want using the up and down buttons. Having used straighteners for many years now both on my own hair and my daughters, I was very interested to see how this straightener brush would work. The big difference (aside from the brush) is that you can set the temperature on the brush, in 5 degree increments, and there is a guide in the attached leaflet that tells you what temperature you should choose according to your hair type. That is a big advantage as sometimes I feel with traditional straighteners that not only are they straightening my hair, but burning it in the process!
I have to say the rate this brush heats up is impressive, there is a temperature LED display where you can see the figure increasing in seconds.
The big negative for me is the kind of bristles they use. On long hair (which me and my daughter have) you have to use a soft bristle brush in order to get through the knots and tangles without damaging the hair. I appreciate you can't use plastic bristles on a device like this with heat...

I have always used straighteners as my long hair can become frizzy if left to dry naturally but had never considered using a straightening brush because I didn't think they would work as well, I was wrong this brush work very well. Like straighteners, I just plug the brush in, select the temperature and wait for a few minutes to heat up; then basically brush through a section of hair at a time. I found I could straighten wider areas of hair because of the width of the brush and as I swept it through my hair it straightened and flattened any frizz. I would say that my hair is straight after using the brush but not as poker straight as it is when using the straighteners which actually looks more natural.
