It's a sold (shatter if you drop it) crystal looking block.About twice the size of the complimentary bars of soap you get by the sink in a hotel so it's not big.Don't let size bother you.This thing is rock solid so should last a long time.Wet your face with cold water first after the shave then wet this block.Avoiding the lips (if you get this on your lips your left feeling like you've just had a suck on a lemon, but no big deal).It will tingle a little if your shave was a bit aggressive, if so stops any bleeding instantly.Leave on for around 30 seconds and either dab dry or rinse off.I rinse this off as it tightens the face a bit, then I apply some moisturiser to complete the freshness of a clean shave.It's completely odourless and has good properties for healing the skin, including antiseptic.100% natural and works with sensitive skin (which I have).

Not much to say about it,The product came well packaged and is of high quality.Alum blocks are small blocks made of potassium alum which is a natural antiseptic and coagulant and so helps heal most shaving nicks without them leaving a mark. It also stings a fair amount, no worse than cheap aftershave, if the skin is irritated or broken from shaving so it highlights areas for improvement on shaving technique.For the price it's indisposable.The block seems like it will last a long time, after around 20 uses it hasn't started to show signs of wear.Personally I would go for a smaller block for the harder to reach and more awkward angles of the face, this block is too big for around your upper lip and you quite commonly get it on your lips which tastes absolutely vile.Recommended for any type of shave.
