Organic Hair Dye - It's Pure Organics Herbal Hair Colour Chestnut is available in Semi-Permanent Colour

110g pack of hair colour powder is enough for average shoulder length hair. If your hair is thick you will need more, or if it's fine or layered you'll need less. Full instructions, latex gloves and cap are included in the packet. The resulting colour outcome after using this hair colour does depend on the colour of your hair before using it. On hair which is dark blonde to light brown it will be less auburn and more of a warm brown. On a salt-and-pepper mix of brown and white hair you will get an average effect, with the white hairs going more auburn. Although we do our best to formulate this hair dye so that you get a good colour, we cannot guarantee the precise colour outcome. This is because everyone's hair is different, both in terms of the initial hair colour and different hair chemistry, and will take the colour slightly differently.

Best henna/plant based dye I have ever used., 10 Sept. 2015

Best plant based and /or henna product I have ever used. I wash my fine hair every day, have used plant dyes in preference to chemical ones for the last three decades, my natural colour is a mousey and now greying non-descript light brown/dark blond, and henna browns and dark reds really suit me, so that's the way for me to go. What makes this dye special in my opinion that the powder is very fine and 'jellifies' a bit when mixed with warm water, which makes it easy to put on, doesn't drip all over the place quite as much as other henna powder dyes, nor the mixed liquid ones, do. Also, the colour is very very long-lasting, possibly the first time I felt any dye was truly permanent, and grey hair just turns into lovely golden to red/brown highlights, my hairdresser always tells me that that is the effect so many are after taking the chemical route. My hair feels wonderfully strong and soft, considering how fine it is, has a lovely shine, and one pack lasts me for two applications. I...

Brilliant, great value for money and great results., 21 Feb. 2017

Love this hair dye. I have only ever had my hair dyed at a salon but didn't like the money it cost, the chemicals or the idea that it might have been tested on animals. I have very dark brown hair that is peppered lightly with grey and is jaw length. I only use a third of a pack each time and leave it on for 3 hours. I was worried about the mess etc but it's easy to use and so much cheaper than a salon, in actual fact I prefer the colour to the salon results, much more natural. I have used Dark Brown but found it too dark, then I tried Chestnut which had a lovely warm subtle red effect but after a couple of washes my grey hair went a bit orange so I mixed Chestnut and Natural brown half and half which I really liked. I read a suggestion somewhere not to shampoo my hair, just rinse with water after applying the dye but I tried this and it left too much dye residue in my hair which was a bit itchy and the smell of the dye is quite strong (like strong green tea) so I prefer to...

IT WORKS, BUT NOT ALWAYS PREDICTABLY, 29 Jan. 2017
It's better than chemicals which harm but not quite perfect. It can oxidise on the hair in different ways, so you may have a two toned, badger look - you may have to get inventive with an auburn top and coppery sides. However, it does cover grey well and is a LOT less messy than other henna products. Your head will smell like freshly mown hay for a couple of washes but this is a small price to pay for looking less old lady. I used the best organic coconut oil (just a 20p piece, melted between the palms and patted onto damp hair) to condition the hair because it did not turn out as untangled as I had expected. The product rinsed out quite well, with no bathroom stains. Overall, so far the best of the healthier colour options and while it says 'chestnut', it's really more red than brown.
