Even better than the last Panasonic, 6 Nov. 2015

I previously bought a Panasonic ES-RT81 and was happy with it, but the battery life had degraded to a couple of days and it needed new foils and a cutter, so it was cheaper to buy a new whole shaver (crazy).

The ES-ST25 shares the 3 blade design with the centre long hair cutter, so it manages just about any length of stubble from a day to a week, similar to a Braun (3 series, now 1 series). The foils shave close but aren't fragile like a Remington (various models), which tend to break and cut you before you notice.

I liked the 10,000rpm motor in the old Panasonic shaver, it performed far better than the rattly slow motors in the other shavers I've had. The new Panasonic has an even faster 13,000rpm motor, which works even better still. You only need light to moderate pressure and to glide over each area once or twice to get a close shave. Gives me a clean shave. Because it has a charge cradle it can't be used while charging, so if the battery runs low during a shave you have to wait until it is charged. Only time will tell if this is going to be a problem. It has two power settings, first press of the power button it auto senses how hard your beard is and adjusts power to suit, second press gives full power all the time.
