This IPL removal system works by inhibiting hair growth. This is rather like a large electric razor or epilator in design, which is light and comfortable to hold and fairly quick to use (about ten minutes to treat both your legs for example) and you can treat your whole body without having to recharge.

After 2 frantic minutes trying to set it all up (fiddly packaging, book to understand [NB:- read the safety info] - but it is easy!) I set it off in motion. It was already charged so that was great as I was excited to be using it. I tried patch tests on my legs and the smell of burning hair was noted! No pain at all!
I have used the face module x2 too, and that has been fine. I actually really think it has held them away, the facial area has had years of various treatments though.
I have done a further session on my legs as there had been regrowth.
I cannot comment on the longevity as it has only been a few weeks & my hairs are thick dark stubborn buggers, but it's so easy you can do it watching tv.
I would say you need to have good laser proof eye goggles. When you don't look away the light is blinding and not good for your eyes. You can't look away for long as you need to redirect the head and pop the light goes off.

My wife had been wanting to try IPL hair removal, so she was very pleased to receive this to see if it is as good as she has heard. The concept is quite simple. The IPL emits flashes of high-intensity light that basically kill the hair follicles at source, meaning that hair doesn't grow back.
The Lumea is fairly small, and is cordless or can be used from the mains. It is worth mentioning that there is a fairly daunting list of reasons why you can't use this. It is only recommended for use on lighter skin types, and not for people with very blonde hair, etc. It is a bit disappointing that this checklist isn't given on the Amazon product page or on the Panasonic website (if it is there, I can't find it), but my wife has previously used a similar product from another company, so was aware of the reasons why it might not be suitable.
