There are some prohibitions- don't use on light blond, white, grey or red hair. don't use it if you never get sun burnt, or tan very darkly, or your skin colour is brownish black or darker, as there is a risk of skin reactions, such as discoloration, redness and burns. There is other stuff as well, such as varicose veins, heart disease, diabetes. So you would be well advised to check carefully if you can use this before you buy.And don't use on scrotum or face (men obviously) mole freckles warts and so... Fantastic Piece Of Kit When Used Regularly, 27 Aug. 2015

Having read about expensive laser hair removal, and seen the price tag attached to such treatments, I was intrigued to see how this system would perform on a consumer level, with a piece of kit that can be bought over the counter. Philips seems to be one of the leading brands on the market, and with a price tag of over £300 my expectations were pretty high.

Firstly, this is only suited to certain skin types, so be sure to check the manufacturer's website before you buy this.

Out of the box this is very simple to use, with 5 power settings, and various head attachments for different parts of the body. The Philips websites notes that this does not include a facial attachment, but this is false - this DOES include a face attachment, which is very handy for focusing on smaller areas of the face. You can't use this while it is on charge, but that is no big problem.

Review by Mrs O'Boogie - This product looks great and comes extremely well packaged. The two instruction booklets give comprehensive guidance on its functions and how to use. This product is however not for everyone and there is a long list of conditions where it will not be suitable, for example, certain skin and hair colours, skin conditions and medications. The booklet does make this very clear. It is light and easy to use, partly due to the fact that it has no wires to get in the way. It charges up in roughly an hour and a half and you are good to go. The 'slide and flash' mode is definitely a plus and makes it a relatively quick and hassle free method when using on legs. One of the features I really like about this product is that it lets you know when you have it positioned correctly before you 'flash', I have used similar devices and wasn't always sure I was using thm effectively. It does not hurt or sting when used but it is a warm sensation and that lasts for about ten...
