Excellent unit, the most effective and pain-free solution to hair removal. There are numerous ways of removing hair - shaving, waxing, epilating! etc. - all eventuate with hair regrowth, as I'm sure most of us know. This kind of treatment is totally painless for suitable users, which I think is massively progressive in this kind of treatment. Epilators are effective in that they pull out the entire hair from the root, but even these grow back in six weeks or so, and let's face it, they hurt. This light treatment basically affects the melanin and hair root so that it interrupts growth, and the hair falls out naturally; ie it causes you to moult in treated areas. Do bear in mind that hair will regrow with this treatment, and it requires repeat treatment every two weeks (four weeks for legs) to maintain the hair-free zones. In time, we're assured, the hair regrowth lessens, but this I can't vouch for yet. But what I can definitely support is that this is painless, it works straight out...

This SC2008 is the latest model of the popular Lumea IPL range. However it is completely identical to the SC2006 with a few additions but i will get to that in a minute.
If you have come here from my review on the SC2006 , thank you for reading my review and following the link here, and the 1st thing you want to know is is it worth the additional cost?
No - in my opinion it does not warrant an additional £200, the SC2006 at time of writing this review is £300, this is £500. However it has now been on lightning deals a few times, lowest ive seen is £260, if you see it at this price i would buy it.
So what's new? A Bikini head, and that is literally it, another thing is both the bikini head, and the face head have little graphics on to show which is which, i think this is very handy, however the body one does not have one on, which i think is a shame.
However that is it, nothing else is different, the box is the same, the unit is the same, the...

On the face of it, the SC2008 is exactly the same as the earlier model SC2006 except for the addition of a bikini line attachment and some minor cosmetic changes. Potential lifespan of the product (number of flashes) and all other specifications are the same; once the battery or lamp dies, that’s the end of the product life as only the removable attachments can be replaced. Philips estimate the product should last for 140,000 flashes, or around 5 years when used by one person. It has a two year guarantee.
The cosmetic differences between the SC2006 and the SC2008 are that the silver/white colouring on the devices have been swapped around and the soft storage bag is white rather than silver. A new model in the range usually means that previous models tend to be on special offer so it is worth checking the SC2006 vs the SC2008 for the best deals. At this stage the SC2008 hasn’t made it onto the Philips website and it doesn’t look as though the bikini...
