Amazing shave - replaced my razor and blades for good!!, 6 July 2015

This is an absolutely amazing razor.

I've tried electric shaving in the past (including ones by Philips) and I've never really got on with them - redness, soreness, irritation - it wasn't for me.

So I stuck with a manual razor and blade - although not ideal they still gave me irritation but not as much as electric shaving did. Until now...

This shaver is the best electric razor I've ever used and has now retired my manual razor and blades to the back of the cupboard for good.

The build quality is excellent, the weight is well balanced and the ergonomics make for a perfect fit in the hand.

I've used the shaver for both wet and dry shaving and either way I am left with a close, smooth, comfortable shave with little to no irritation.

Once finished, the shaver is easily cleaned under the tap by removing the blades and head attachment and are easy to snap back into place again.

I only wish it came with the cleaning...

Review written by Mike Smith - Before reading my review of Philips Shaver 7000 series, please bare in mind how hard an electric razor has to work for me due to my thick and stubborn, fast growing facial hair.

I have not used an electric razor for several years since my face was left so sore from using the one i previously owned as it just could not cope with my strong, heavy facial hair. I have very sensitive skin and i like to be clean shaven with a smooth finish and had not at that point found an electric razor that could provide this for me, so i opted to wet shave with a hand razor instead. Most days shaving twice a day which is time consuming and not always convenient.

A genuine advance in electric shaving (for me at least), 24 Sept. 2015

Having periodically tried to use electric shavers every few years, and then being disappointed with the results and reverting to a razor, I was apprehensive at the claims of this shaver being for "sensitive skin". By way of background, I have very coarse, fast beard growth but I also have reasonably sensitive skin, which means that all shavers I have tried in the past (including earlier Philips models) had required so many movements over each part of the face in order to deal with the dense stubble that my skin would become angry, irritated and rather unsightly. Add to that a significant number of missed hairs around the throat/neck and the overall experience was quite unpleasant. The promise of a shaver specifically designed for sensitive skin, and which could also be used wet with a gel or foam, plus 50% off the RRP from Amazon made it worth another shot, in my mind.
