I just got this today in a sale from Boots but then came on Amazon to find it cheaper! But anyway, i have used electric in the past but have mostly been wet shaving more. I havn't used a Philips shaver for years, but after building up alot of pocket change in my loose change tin, which funnily enough was the tin my HQ8894 shaver came in, the one from the Die another day Bond film, it turned out I had enough for this particular model. I have to say after giving it a quick go this evening, it it superb and quick. While not quite as close as I could get with the latest model from Gillette, it's close enough to stay on top of it everyday. As the user above mentions, I was a bit unsure what to use with the brush but after trying that out with some Gillette face wash, I've decided that I don't really like that part. But, on the plus side it can be used wet or dry, in the shower or with shaving gel etc and with these new Lithium Ion batteries, we can now finally get almost as much...

Significantly better than my old 7000 but very expensive, 19 May 2016
I purchased this to replace a Philips 7000 coolskin that I had been using for several years but had a broken spring in the head. I could have got away with replacing the head but decided to get the best shaver I could afford. I use them in the shower. Both are good but the 9111 is definitely more efficient and does a slightly better job. I'm not sure if it is worth paying £100 more than it would have cost me to replace the head on my old one but it is quieter, heavier, and produces a smother finish in less time. I think that its rather expensive and only worth getting if you can afford it. I have given it 4 stars and not 5 only because of the price.
