The RQ1180's baby brother - refined, but with fewer cool features, 1 Sept. 2010

This 'blue' Philishave RQ1150 is the baby brother of the sublime 'red' RQ1180 that costs a third more. The more expensive model offers a superior grip, a travel pouch, longer lasting charge [17 days] and a 5 level LED charge indicator. On this model you get just a two level battery indicator, 14 days between charges, Battery low indicator, Charge indicator, and 'travel lock'. There's also no pouch supplied [just buy a small cheap zipped case]. Otherwise though this razor also offers 1h quickcharge, plus a similar body and identical shave head to the RQ1180 - i.e. the same actual shaving experience.

I have been a Philishave fan for forty years [got my first at 14]. I have a fairly dark 'stubble' made of thickish black hair and have never been able to wetshave. I say this as although I love the Philishave electric shaving system, others like my brother-in-law [who is fair skinned with fine blond hair] absolutely hate Philishavers and he binned his after a few months and went...

Simpy the Best, 14 Oct. 2012
In over 50 years of shaving, mostly with electric razors, this is simply the best one I've ever used. It shaves closely, smoothly and without leaving the skin sore. What more could you ask for?The last time I owned a Philishave was about 40 years ago. It was a rotary portable battery powered and the batteries soon ran down, which I didn't like because it would stall on the stubble and pluck out the hairs -- very painful. Since then I've used foil razors -- Boots own, Remington, Braun, which were OK but not outstanding. When my latest Braun died I decided to try a Philips rotary again and bought the sensotouch. I couldn't believe how good it was and how much the rotary technology has improved.Never mind all the bells and whistles, (why pay more ?) it's the quality of the shave that counts and in the words of Tina Turner this is "simply the best"

Not that good, 6 July 2011
I have a lot of Philips razors over the years and although this is flexible and light, it does take a little while to get a good shave, hence only 3 stars.
