A convenient cream to protect your skin from high-altitude sun, cold, wind and dry air, 22 Dec. 2016

This new product from Piz Buin is primarily designed to protect your exposed skin when pursuing winter sports in mountainous regions. Although the sun cream is formulated for winter use in the mountains by skiers and winter sports fans it could also prove useful for summer sun lovers too if you have any left over next year. The cream is perfect for use on the face as it can protect against the cold, the wind and dry air as well as offering SPF 50 protection against the UVA/UVB rays in the strong high altitude sunlight. However, for just under a fourteen pounds you don't get a huge amount of product – just 50ml of the sun-cream in this specially-shaped flat tube. However, Piz Buin does offer quality products in a convenient form so this may prove popular as a holiday item for those about to head for the ski slopes so is worth considering if you want to help protect your skin from the conditions in the mountains. Effective sun cream with 50SPF formulated for mountain use, 18 Dec. 2016

This is a very good high SPF sun cream product (as you'd expect from Piz Buin), formulated for use by skiers and other mountain pursuits. It's in a 50ml size tube that's been flattened to make it easier to fit into a pocket. The cream smells very pleasant and is absorbed quickly into the skin without any real greasiness. It claims to have a cold shield complex to protect against cold weather, although I have to say that it wasn't something I specifically noticed, although it did moisturise my skin effectively (probably due to the shea butter in it). It's sweat resistant but you will need to reapply more frequently. if you're sweating a lot. Regarding the reapplication, the instructions state that this has to be done frequently but there's no guidance as to how long it should last - which I think is unhelpful - certainly other products I use usually say when to consider reapplying. Other than that though I think this is a great product and would definitely buy in future.
