I love doing my own nails and have a battered manicure kit that goes everywhere with me. It's getting a bit tired now though as it's many years old and I have replaced many of the contents individually. I was really excited when the AsaVea kit landed as I wanted to explore all the pieces inside it. It was so much better quality than I expected it to be starting with the case which is like a stiff purse with a clasp, then inside there are 12 pieces which cover most nail emergencies. All are made from stainless steel and sit in their own holder so the contents do not slide around.
You get three nail clippers in large, small and slanted clippers which are ideal for fingers and toes. Each has a smiley face cut out too on the handle which is super cute. This “Portable Professional Manicure Set From AsaVea” is a set of personal hygiene tools presented in a boxed and wrapped clam shell type snap closure case. The case is made from leather like material in a dark brown embossed with a crocodile skin type pattern. It is filled to the brim with stainless steel tools for nail care and stray hair removal or trimming. There is also a wonderfully named ‘pimple pusher’! The stainless steel tools can be sterilised and washed by hand or in a dishwasher should you require. Make sure they are dried before putting them away as they might rust.
There are three pairs of nail clippers; one is large and intended for toe nails or for very strong finger nails. It is about 10cm in length and 2cm wide. The next one is designed for normal finger nails and i find it is best to clip in small steps, as if you are making the shape of a 20p coin and then to file the edges smooth. I received the set in a lovely case with so many different tools and it took some research to work out what some of them were.
