Proraso Shaving Soap Bowl Nourishing Sandalwood and Shea Butter is a shaving soap that are made following an old tradition, which means that the soap are left to mature for 10 days in the production batches. In that way, the soap becomes more cocentrated. The shaving soap contains glycerin to allow the razor to slide smoother and reduce the risk of skin irritation. Contains shea butter that helps to keep the skin soft and elastic and sandal oil that has a calming, anti-inflammatory effect. Has a softening effect on even the toughest beard. For coarse beard and dry skin. Should be used with a shaving brush. Free from parabens, mineral oils and silicons. Does not contain artificial colors. Volume: 150 ml

Best value and quality Sandlewood Shaving Soap on Amazon., 6 Jan. 2014

I gave this shaving soap 5 stars because it is superb in terms of quality and price.It lathers well,smells beautiful and helps give one a good,clean and smooth shave.I use this brand's shaving brush and a DE razor, added up,they all do the trick. Over all Proraso's products are excellent and combine decent prices with the highest quality shaving items,give them a go,you will never look back and don't hesitate to buy this particular product.I am amazed I am the first to review it.

smells like real sandalwood to me (and contains some S.album), 13 Mar. 2015

More of a "croap" than a cream as it is harder but not like T&H, tabac, Taylors of old bond st. which are hard soaps. Lathers easy and smooth with zero burn. Been shaving my face and head with this (edwinjagger DE) for about 12months and find it is the best for my skin type. I hear the tube version of this (and the green mint and sensitive white) are more cream consistency but I prefer the soft soaps as load my brush well without soaking like hard soaps need but last longer than cream and never overloads bristles.

The smell I don't find chemically myself and smells like real sandalwood to me, NOT amyris which is often the scent in most sthings labelled sandalwood. I thought it'd be a blend of santaliff/sanjinol/ebanol etc at this price but the ingredients list actual santalum album oil in there although there are artificials too.Smells as good as the genuine stuff I use for making aftershave balms I get from perfumery supplier as it is my fav scent. Not overpowering...

Superb value, great lather and wonderful smell, 3 April 2014

I wholeheartedly confirm the other positive reviews of this product. It's kind on your skin, produces a great lather and has a subtle manly smell that's really hard to beat. As if that wasn't enough it's also fantastic value for money and will last you a long time. It's not even worth debating... buy some and you won't regret it.
