I've been using Rainbow Research Henna off and on for a very long time because I've always tried other hennas in between times. The reason for this is that, comparatively speaking, Rainbow Research Henna works out as fairly expensive. (There's also a packaging consideration and, given that it comes from America, a time lag between order and delivery.)

However I always go back to Rainbow Research because it's easy and the colour always comes out the same. Once you've worked out the colour and shade that's right for you, by mixing colours from the range (I mix three parts black to one part Persian Light Brown to achieve a natural mid-brown colour), you can get it exactly right every time. If you mix your own henna this is highly tricky.

The other reason I always go back to Rainbow Research Henna is that, as henna colouring goes, it's pretty fuss-free. Given that henna doesn't smell particularly pleasant, the less time you have to be mixing and generally dealing...

Delivery was around a week as I think this comes from the USA. However, once I got it and opened the package the smell was intense. The powder is green. I followed the instructions. I have some grey hairs on my side burns. So this is what I did.1. Washed my hair with conditioner2. Mixed the powder with hot water and a little coffee.. Mix very thoroughly until it the texture is like yoghurt i.e. not too thick and not too thin.3. Put lashings of on my sideburns, covered it with some cling film and a wolly hat4. Leave it all one for a minimum of 2-3 hours.5. Wash again with hair conditioner or just warm water.Hey presto, my hair was as black as the rest of my hair. You can't even tell. It last around 4 weeks.

Have been using henna for years but rainbow research have the best. Colours always come up true and vibrant. My hair feels healthy, full and shiny after each colouring. Colour also stays true wash after wash and I have not noticed any fading. - only need roots application every 8 weeks and it covers my few sparkly strands reliably. They have not let me down. The very fine powder mixes lump free and application is therefore easier.
