Like many wet shavers, I'm appalled at the cost of quality multi-blades so was interested to try this out, given that it was sold at 50% off, so about £11.50 with postage. Claims of 150 'new' shaves are over-inflated but the device does prolong blade life considerably. I've used it for 6 months now. I used to stretch a blade for 3 or 4 weeks (my beard is not very thick), with daily use but now use the same blade for about 12 weeks before discarding, so maybe 90-odd shaves. So the sharpener pays for itself and starts saving money pretty quickly.Works best with foam rather than gel shave cream.I bought one for my son, so I'd say it's a 'buy' but if you have a heavy beard or skin that's intolerant of a anything but the sharpest blade, then you may not be so chuffed. But it's worth a go as you can save heaps.Update: 26FEB, used over 6 months now and only on 3rd blade. So it's paid for itself quickly.

I use disposeable razors (Wilkinson Extreme 3 sensitive). I would normally get 15 shaves from it but towards the end it would be really tugging. I am now on 32 shaves and it as though I have just got it out the packet. I have however changed my shaving routine which I think also helps. These are my tips:-

1. If possible shower before shaving or apply water as hot as possible to open pores of skin (old barbers used to use hot towels).

2. Apply two drops of Baby Oil (Poundland) and rub into skin. This will have similar effect to those expesive shave oils.

3. Then apply your normal shaving gel. Due to the oil you won't get so much lather.

4. Shave with the grain of your beard then in opposite direction.

5. Use razor sharpner.

6. Dry razor thorougly (pevents oxidisation). I dry mine on towell in same way as using

the sharpner. Store in dry place, remeber bathrooms are damp places.

I use Gillette Fusion.... after couple of weeks I was strugling with it ...but yestereay I used RazorSharp Blade Sharpener ... and it worked. Wished I should have bought this Sharpener long time ago.
