A no thrills shave balm that gets the job done, 11 Mar. 2010
Having used many shave balms including Floris, Proraso and Trumpers, I was quite interested to see how this compared. Firstly - it's quite watery, so be careful when you squeeze it, otherwise you'll end up with half the tube in your hands! The balm has a subtle scent, which does not linger, and the balm itself absorbs into the skin very quickly, without leaving any greasy residue.Performance wise, I'd say it's on a par with the likes of Nivea, and is ideal as an everyday balm. There is nothing exceptionally great about it, but it's not bad either. It's cheap, and does the job without any fuss - what more could you ask for at this price?

I've been shaving for many years and have always favoured a specific brand beginning with G. I have tried others, but nothing could compare.I recently bought a set of The Real Shaving Co. shaving items. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. After all these years, using the same brand, I never thought I would find anything that could compare. The Real Shaving Co. not only compares but blows it out of the water. Considering how inexpensive they are, I will be using these from now on.If you are a regular shaver and use the more common brand (G) then I really urge you to give these a go. You will not be disappointed. For a few pounds you get a great shave and the balm leaves your skin smooth and moisturised (something that manly men never want to hear, but it's true!).Thanks to the others that have recommended it otherwise I would never have tried them.

Locally any kind of man's shaving balm is ridiculously over priced and generally poor. This balm is both very soothing and keenly priced. A little goes a very long way, I only use a tiny bit but generally end up spreading it up to my forehead as it goes so far. Its not really fragranced which works for me as I don't want it to fight with my aftershave. Great product and will certainly buy more once this has run out.
