My wife has a Babyliss big hair, 2777U, which she absolutely loves so it is interesting to compare it to the Remington version. The Remington is longer than the Babyliss, approx 39cm to the Babyliss' 33cm, and the Remington is over 100gms heavier. Lead lengths on both are around 2.5m. The Babyliss come with one brush, which is fixed but the Remington comes with two, one about the same size as the Babyliss and a larger one, these are easy to change using a twist-lock mechanism. The Babyliss brush has relatively soft bristles but the Remington brushes are a mix of shorter bristles and plastic prongs.
The Remington uses a twist collar for the forward and reverse motor which wasn't as convenient as the Babyliss' push-buttons and that together with the extra length and weight made the Remington not as easy to use as the Babyliss. In initial use the Remington brush tended to stop rotating if too much hair was grabbed by the brush and there seemed to be a learning curve of applying...

We were a little disappointed by this Remington Air Styler. The idea is good, a hair dryer and styler providing everything in one go. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite match the expectations.
The device is far bigger than expected. I guess it makes sense considering the hair drying element but still, it's big and heavy to hold, meaning that your arm soon becomes tired. It comes with 2 different attachments, a small and large one, though the small one is still pretty large. The idea is that you turn the bottom dial to get the hair drying element and then a dial just before the styling brush to rotate the top automatically, then unroll it by turning it the other way.
Both my wife and I tried this in our hair, I have just over shoulder length hair, and we both found that it got stuck, not unrolling properly when turning it the other way, which is, after all, the main feature. Did it provide volume? Yes, there was some volume and our hair did look a little shinier,...

Oh this is an evil contraption! Obviously it looks quite unwieldy coming out of the box and I felt the need to be wary. I therefore did my homework and not only read the instructions and practiced with it nowhere near my hair, I also watched the helpful video online.
In the video a toothsome model with hair roughly the same length as mine beams vacuously while a gent shows how easy this thing is to use. After a few beautiful, swooshy waves are turned out, the woman tries herself and continues to smile winsomely as she repeats what the guy has been doing. Ok. How hard can it be?
So my first attempt nearly breaks my neck. The winder doesn't just wind. Oh no. It's like sticking my long locks inside a fan. Before I can blink the dastardly thing is securely attached to my head.
Having performed said action in front of a mirror I can see no winsome and vacuous smiles from me. Oh no. Wild eyed terror is what I can see. Ok, don't panic. Reverse the wider...oh...
