A great curling wand that really works, 20 Aug. 2015

We were looking for a new curling wand for my wife and daughter and this Remington CI53W Shine Therapy Wand sounded a little different from the norm.

In the past we haven't got on with the curling tongs, the ones that use the clip to roll up the hair, and this Remington device forgoes the clip for something more simple. Out of the box it comes with the wand, a long bag to keep it in, a thermal glove to protect you from getting burnt and instructions.

The wand is really easy to use. Just plug in, choose the temperature from a dial and wait for the light to stop flashing. The only issue we had was that the dial does not have numbers on, so you can't easily tell where it is or even where the half way point is. The manual recommends that you start with it on low heat and work up until you find the best heat. It also warns that the highest setting is for professionals, which I can understand as it gets really hot. Actually, the highest setting seems to curl hair...

I have to say I really love this and have now given my curling tongs to my sister!

I was intrigued by the idea of a wand as I didn't understand how this would work and more importantly how I would stop from getting burnt but when I received the wand and opened the box I realised that they send a thermal glove (bit like an oven mitt but actually manageable/flexible) for you to wind the hair around the wand.

The wand is definitely in the Keep it Simple Stupid realm in that you simply plug it in choose your temperature setting - it's a dial not temperature and then wait for the light to stop flashing. Then take a section of your dry (freshly washed hair) and wind it around the wand. Hold for 30 seconds release and move on. When your hair is cool they recommend running your fingers through your curls.

I have to say that my hair is definitely shinier using this than using hair tongs so I don't know if this is thanks to the argan oil or the actual wand...

One of the best curling wands on the market and great value for money, 30 Aug. 2015

I've tried curling wands before and to be honest they were much more expensive however this is better than all of the one's I've previously tried. The wand is thinner than other wands and this actually is better as it makes curls rather than making waves.

The cable is a really good length (2 and a half metres) so I have no problem sitting at my dressing table and doing my hair. Plus when I used it to curl my sister's hair it was also long enough and I didn't have any problems. The cable rotates through the full 360 degrees which is a big plus.

You simply plug this in select your heat setting and wait for the light to stop flashing which takes a matter of seconds and then curl your hair. This is so simple it's brilliant. The heat settings are not temperature marked but it is common sense that 1 is the lowest and 10 the highest etc. Included in the box is a thermal glove so that you don't give your curling hand third degree burns and this...
