This is very easy to use and nice and compact for easy storage when travelling. My daughter's hair is very fine but the wand curled it very easily and softly. She loves it. The heat is not overly intense and so have not had to use the protective mitt but still a good idea for younger and more sensitive hands.

This is easy to use and works. Took a bit of practice to get it right but myself and daughter are pleased with it now. Good price too.

Excellent - long lasting waves, 27 Sept. 2014

This waving wand looks and works like a curling wand, but instead of being conical, it's a wider, almost rectangular barrel. It comes with a heat protective glove to be worn on the hand that wraps the hair around the wand. The glove is fairly thick and does not allow for as much dexterity as the thinner glove which came with my curling wand, so I used that instead.

The waving wand heats up extremely quickly. It has a good range of temperatures on the digital control, and for my daughter's extremely thick, straight, long hair I used 190 degrees which worked perfectly. I held the hair around the wand for 10-15 seconds which made slightly odd shaped curls. If you leave the curls to set and cool, you can either leave them as they are (for wavy ringlets) or brush through with your fingers or a brush for lovely waves.

The waves lasted all night at a party and my daughter's hair was still really wavy this morning after being brushed through.
