Not what I expected at all, curling iron leaves an indent at the beginning of the curl on each piece of hair which doesn't look nice. I have very thick hair and I have to have the curler on the hottest setting to even slightly change my hair in any way. I wouldn't recommend.

If you want tight curls go for another curler. This gives you more of a just left the hair dressers with a blow dry look. I love it :)
