There was a time when Remington's advertising slogan was "shaves close as a blade, or your money back". Its easy to see why, now they produce shavers like this, they stopped using that line.This feels like a cheap toy and shaves worse than a battery travel shaver.Do yourself a favor, buy something else, I am sending this one back for a refund.

I bought this shaver about 18 months ago and can't believe the bad reviews, so I thought I should give my experience to balance the impression they give.

I previously used Phillishave rotaries but chose this foil shaver because of the silly prices that Phillips wanted for a rotary with cutters. I regard cutters as essential to deal with tufts of longish hair that appear between chin and neck, as well being useful for nasal hair and for carefully skimming the top of the head for straggly fine hairs.

The shaver performs very well indeed. I have had closer shaves but the difference is very marginal. The cutters work well too for the reasons I wanted them, and the rechargeable batteries last for ages. I like the fact you can rinse the whole head unit and leave it dry in the air.

For 18 months it has given me no problems at all but now the foils are starting to prickle, which why I came here to get a replacement.

The bad points are very minor...
