As good as my Philips but much more expensive, 7 Sept. 2014

I normally use a Philips wet and dry, three rotory cutter shaver and was intrigued by this Remington XR1390.The photo on the Amazon page actually shows the shaver with the beard trimmer head fitted, not the shaver head. The two are easily swapped.After charging overnight, I switched it on. The LED display which had a rotating display while charging, now showed 60, the remaining shaving time.After applying shaving gel to my wet face, I had a very decent and comfortable shave. There was very little to choose between my normal Philips and the Remington. Which begs the question, is it worth 4 times the price for the beard trimmer?I will use the Remington until it needs charging and then alternate between the two a month at a time. Sexy is not the first word that springs to mind when you are thinking about electric shavers, which is quite a shame because the 'Remington XR1390 Hyperflex Verso Shaver' is certainly one good looking shaver. Its black (with a little silver), its curvy, its ergonomically designed and with red LED numbers depicting minutes of shaving time left it is certainly an attention seeker.

The Remington XR1390 Hyperflex Verso Shaver does everything it should do and with its unique Hyperflex technology, it is a first class rotary shaver and superb grooming tool for all of your facial shaving needs.

My husband has a strong beard growth and likes to keep it short, neat and tidy, and the click on Grooming Attachment certainly does the trick. Using the Grooming Attachment with adjustable comb, (2 - 6mm with comb and 0.4mm without comb) he has been able to trim his beard short and then keep the sides of his face extremely smooth with the rotary shaver which is designed to micro...

Very happy with this purchase. Pretty hefty price tag, but does the job very well.The adjustable trimmer is a really nice attachment, letting you customise length without switching out heads. The rotary attachment is the highlight however, I don't have particularly coarse facial hair but the closeness of the shave is surprising, leaving me with no stubble. I do occasionally get a tug on longer hairs, but in general the rotary shave is quick and painless.The body is plastic and feels pretty sturdy. The display is really nice, showing your minutes of battery remaining while powered on, and invisible when powered off.Overall it's great to use. A flexible and effective piece of kit
