A Poor Replacement Model, 17 Jan. 2015

Having been used to using Remingtons MS 2 - 2700 for some years I was sorry to learn they are no longer in production. I opted to buy as a replacement the MS5 120 instead. This razor is very disappointing for the price and is nowhere as good as the earlier model.You only get two full length Cutters/Foils which slows down the shaving process and does not produce as good a shave. The half size third Cutter/Foil is very good for getting at nooks and crannies however.The charging time is much longer as the the Plug/Charger is rated much lower in amps for charging.The worst part about this Razor is when trying to clean it. Every time you try to brush out the Cutters in situ they fall off the Razor Head Unit. No matter how gentle you are they just keep falling off and to make matters worse they are very fidly to replace.Overall the new Razor does produce a reasonable shave but the drawbacks would put me off buying another one.

The razor arrived promptly but with no instructions about charging. After three shaves the foil on the smallest head became perforated and the razor consequently unusable. I have had similar trouble with foils before but usually not until after at least a year of usage. After a brisk exchange of e-mails the dealer handled the matter promptly, the foil was replaced and the razor is now back in working order. The razor is good for open spaces but requires some skill in less accessible areas (e.g. on lip, under the nose). I am not very impressed by the cutter for long hairs.

The 2700 is streets ahead of the 120, 23 May 2015

I have had several 2700s and only one 120. I agree with other users remarks about the 120 -it isnt a patch on the 2700. Remington seem to be treating their customers like idiots. Time was when you could buy a replacement battery for the 2700 and it came with easy instructions to fit, With easily availability of cutterrs and foils, the shaver lasted years. So now they dont suppy replacement batteries and just to punish loyal customers even more they have discontinued the 2700. They dont deserve our loyalty and I for one will not use them again.
