Works Well - USB Charging - Well Sort Of, 27 Dec. 2012

I have used a Remington Grooming Kit before which worked well.

This one is very similar but being USB chargeable I thought it would now have a more Hi-Tech battery system, perhaps Lithium Ion like in mobile phones, lawn mowers and laptop computers.

Anyway, it does not and like most of these gadgets must only be left on charge for 14-16hrs and you must not turn it on if you are charging it from a PC USB port.

Note: The provided charger has a USB connector on the lead end but has an extra plastic prong as it should only be used with the Grooming Kit.

The charger is moulded into a 13Amp UK plug.

Attaching the various cutter heads is straight forward with a clockwise on / anti clockwise off action. Some of the heads I have found are a very tight fit.

reasonably good multi-purpose shaver from Remington., 21 Nov. 2012

This Remington shaver has a nice ergonomic feel to it and comes complete with multiple attachments which, are easy to change over with just a slight turn required. The stand provided for all the attachments and the shaver is not best; a slight knock sends everything flying so the stand should be better designed to facilitate secure storage.The mini foil shaver is probably the worst attachment provided and doesn't produce a very good shave. The ear/nose trimmer is quite good and a useful addition to your grooming kit. All the other attachments I've used for body grooming given that my head is hand shaven.I like all the different measurement grades that you can select enabling you to keep close control of your body hair.All in all a fairly neat gadget probably worth 3.5 stars, which I shall round up to 4.

I have an Wahl hair trimmer but it is mains and heavy so I thought that I would try this. It is nice and light but not very tactile and you dont get much feedback from the unit. The foil shaver is pathetically small, of no use to someone who wants a nice quick, clean shave in the morning. The hair clipper is inaccurate and the adjusment flimsy, I got some very varying results...I will not use again, I dont want to look like Bruce willis.

The charging stand holds most of the accessories well, but the main unit just sits on it and can slide off.

Overall I must say that this just seems like a cheap unit that wont last long, is hard to store and not very good at what it does. Not a good gift idea.

Postscript: I decided to use the haircutting combs set on 5 to cut my hair as I had done with previous clippers.....Disaster!!! the setting jumped from 5 to 1 !!! Now I have to wait until my hair grows back.

ABSOLUTELY USELESS in virtually every way, it is going straight into...
