A beauty staple, 2 Jan. 2013
This is an edited review, my original review is below marked by ***.At first I was pleased with this; inexpensive, good solid colour, easy to apply and seemed to last well. Unfortunately this impression did not last. This is not at all waterproof as advertised, it runs at the slightest suggestion of moisture. If your eyes tear up (crying, hayfever) or you are in wet conditions (rain, taking a shower/bath) you will end up looking as though someone has poured black ink over your eyes, it's a real mess! For this reason I have marked it down from five stars to three.I will go back to using Shu Uemura's painting eyeliner in black. That never budges, no matter how wet it gets.***This is so easy to apply, it simply glides on and the tip is small enough to allow for precise application. Lasts very well on my skin. The price is great and this is such an essential item. Highly recommended!

Excellent value for money, 25 Dec. 2015
Excellent value for money, with great colour depth. It's gentle to apply to the eye area, and the richness of colour means you only need to line the eyes once. I found that I couldn't rim my inner eyes like you can with black kohl, so mainly use it as a soft, smudgy eyeliner for the outer lashes. One thing to note though, I found that the colour tended to smudge a lot under my eyes. So either powder well or start loving the panda look!

Great for smokey eyes but not defined liner looks, 24 Jun. 2015
My only real gripe with this product is that you can't get a sharp line - the gel formula is too soft to produce a defined line, the point wears away very quickly and it drags a lot.On the otherhand, it is a great liner for creating a smokey eye look - draw on a thick black line and then smudge with the sponge end of the pencil. I had success just smudging the line itself, and also smuding a light layer all over my eyelid. You need to take care removing the caps from the pencil itself and the sponge - on the pencil it is a tight fit and the first time I removed it, it caught the end of the gel tip and blunted it. At the other end there is a cap over the sponge, but the sponge itself if on a small removable part which reveals a sharpener so that you can get the gel tip back into shape. That cap will be particularly easy to lose!Overall, I am pleased with this product for creating a smokey eye look
