Gloopy, thick, impossible to apply., 2 Dec. 2017
I've been painting my nails every colour of the spectrum since my teens. Having gone with the times and moved over to doing my own UV gel nails, I bought this on a whim, as it was such a pretty and cheery colour. Unfortunately... as soon as I opened the bottle I knew that this polish was going to be a nightmare to both apply and to achieve a neat finish. It is incredibly thick and tacky, so it doesn't glide on, it drags on. It's like using gone off polish that you bought 5 years ago and then found at the back of your drawers or something. The result is an ugly uneven mess on your nails. Strangely, this stuff peels off, rather than chips off. Rather like the water based 'polish' they used in manicure sets for girls. I don't recall ever having had problems with Rimmel nail polishes before. Maybe this was just a bad batch? Either way, this is going in the bin I'm afraid. Not even going to try and thin it out. Nor will I be wasting any more money on this particular brand ??.

Good colour and quick drying, 15 April 2018

Rose Libertine + Breakfast in Bed

I bought Rose Libertine first, primarily to use for nail stamping, but it’s a nice colour and I’ve also tried it on its own. I generally wear LED gel polish and I wore this with a gel base and top coat, which makes it more shiny and chip-proof.

I liked the polish well enough that I bought another - Breakfast in Bed. I love this colour! It's a light turquoise/aquamarine, slightly more blue than green.

Positives:

+ works well for stamping

+ highly pigmented - Rose Libertine does 1 coat, but Breakfast in Bed needed 2

+ dries quickly - around 3 minutes to touch, 10-15 minutes to safely top coat

+ doesn’t smell too much

+ nice colours

Negatives:

- very difficult to apply smoothly due to the quick drying, often end up with a lumpy finish

- will chip pretty easily

FALSELY ADVERTISED COLOUR - NOT WHAT I ORDERED AT ALL, 7 May 2018
I was initially excited to recieve this polish in the shade danny boy blue, because i love light blue polishes. When my package arrived i was looking forward to using that blue shade first, only to realise it was a completely different shade and had been advertised wrongly in the pictures. Danny boy blue is actually a dark royal blue colour instead of the lighter shade i thought i had purchased. I was willing to let go of my frustrations and try the shade anyway, to see if wearing it on would improve my feelings on the colour. Nope. The colour is so patchy when applied, and i typically use two coats of polish which is always enough for my other colours. Considering how dark Danny boy blue is, i was shocked to see how patchy it comes out. Honestly? This shade sucks. The brand is fine tho, i have other colours from the same collection and they aren't patchy.
