First of all I would say this is more of a copper than a rose gold. It applies well and has a soft consistency, it may prove harder to apply accurately when the point of the pencil has worn down. The shadow stick smudges and blends nicely but the more you blend the more you lose the intense metallic colour. The colour also doesn't last as well when blended. After wearing it for the whole day there was very little metallic colour left, it ended up looking more like a mid-brown, so you would need to reapply it if you were on a long night out.

It is not clear at all from the product itself, the product page or the Rimmel website that you need to sharpen this pencil and it doesn't look like you should be able to sharpen it - it does look more like a retractable pencil. However, you can sharpen it and will need a sharpener that will take a larger pencil, you can get these for around 2.00 - 2.50. This does mean you'll lose a little of the product when you sharpen it...
