Utter waste of money, 24 May 2014
Takes about fifteen mins to heat up the wax and then another five minutes each time you return the peeled strip back to the absolutely tiny pot. This pot is not hot enough to melt the wax efficiently so before it's even touched the skin it's already setting and going crunchy by the time it hits your leg. It maybe peeled out one in twenty hairs on my leg, and the hairs were long and sparse. Absolute rubbish,I tried with under arms, didn't remove a single hairs tried shaving the hair down, not so much as any difference. Once you return the wax to the pot it takes ages for it melt down again. This is supposed to be quick but took me an hour to get out about a square inch of hair with it. Absolutely waste of time and money. Would not recommend, Rio are the kings of shoddy products and this is no different.

Portable and versatile, 28 Jun. 2014

My wife recently bought another Rio waxer, the larger Total Body Waxing Kit, and was happy with the result, but she really wanted a small wax kit that she could easily store anywhere in the house and move around.

This quick waxer is a great solution for those looking for a small portable waxing kit and it comes with everything you need in the box and doesn't rely on the strips of material to take the wax off. The box contains the wax heater, some hard wax and spatulas.

The wax heater is tiny, it's quite surprising getting it out of the box and I did wonder exactly how much wax you could actually fit in the machine. But there was certainly plenty of wax left after legs and face were waxed. The spatulas can be split into smaller bits or used whole for larger areas like the legs.

Heating the machine for the first time takes a while and certainly makes you wonder whether the 'Quick Waxer' name is maybe a bit of a misnomer, but it's clear on the second...

Good for small areas, 24 May 2014

The first heating of wax takes longer than 5 minutes, but this was mentioned in the instruction booklet. After a wait of around 10 minutes and a few stirs of the dinky little pot provided to melt the wax tablet in, the wax was ready and I thought I'd try it on the very fine hairs around my mouth.

I applied a thick coat of the wax as instructed with one of the spatulas supplied. The wax doesn't heat up too much so no danger of burns, and the smell wasn't unpleasant. The wax dried very quickly (in seconds), and I found I had hard little wispy bits like candy floss sticking up from the spatula and where I'd applied it to my skin. There is no need to press cloth strips onto the wax to pull it off, you simply flick up a corner of the wax and pull that off.

There was minimal pain, which surprised me, but then it became apparent that it was because the wax had left quite a few hairs behind. The instructions say the wax will remove even the shortest hairs, but it appears...
