I am not one to shave using an electric shaver, as I find that they never really shave close enough for my liking. Nor do they exfoliate the skin, unlike tradition shaving.

Having used boar bristle brushes for many years, I was very eager to compare the benefits of using the badger bristle brush. My first impressions of this brush is that it is exceptionally well made, good looking, and the bristles are very smooth. I normally let a boar bristles brush soften in hot water for a few minutes, before lathering it up with shaving soap. However, with this brush, I found that soaking was not especially beneficial, as the bristles are already soft and smooth. The benefits of badger hair became apparently upon lathering. I normally use traditional Arko shaving soak, and it lather very well. However, it only took a quick swirling of the brush against the soap to lather up with rich soapy suds. Applying the suds to my face and neck was extremely smooth and comfortable, I felt that...

I was given a discount code for this item by the supplier in return for my feedback and to write a review. This review is my honest opinion and have not been influenced in any way by the supplier.

This is a well presented and quality shave brush. It comes in a strong cardboard tube for transport with the company logo and name printed at the top, bottom and side. On removing the cap, the brush is inside the tube protected by a polythene bag.

The actual brush is a nice size, with the bristles nice and tight to form a close fan, rather than an open fan. I prefer the closer brush as it exfoliates the skin better than the wide fan style. The handle is a black finish with the company logo printed in white. The base is a polished metal to match the bristle holder ring at the top. This makes for a well constructed brush, that has a good weight to it.

I really like the presentation packaging of this item. It arrived neatly inside a tube with the company logo and name printed in white with a black background.

This shaving brush is made of genuine badger hair not synthetic nylon. This is the best kind of shaving brush as it tough yet also pliable. It is excellent for getting a great lather going and also retains the water well.

The cons for this item would be that it does not come with a stand and the container it arrives in is cardboard so therefore not suitable for storing it in after use.

It is very impressive looking and will last for a long time. Very good quality and excellent results when used.

My husband is very happy with it. I accidently threw away his old one during the week when I had a big bathroom clearout (and thought he doesn't use it anymore), this coudn't have arrived at a better time :-)
