firstly, let's get the obvious out of way... it's a natural hair brush. Hair from an animal. So it smells a bit well... natural, which isn't the most pleasant of odours. To recify this, wash it like you would hair. Seriously, just get a wee bit of shampoo... wash it, rinse it out well and away you go.
The brush in use is nice, it's not super soft (which would be useless for course whiskers like mine) but it's not like using a yard broom on your face either. Nicely between those two points - going towards the course side of the spectrum.
The Arko soap works well, needing little in the way of water to get a nice creamy lather that does a good job of allowing the blade sufficient lubrication to glide across the skin well. Then, of course we get to the smell. Which, frankly is a bit "public toilet soap" for my liking... don't get me wrong, it's a clean (almost surgical smell)... but it's not quite the more masculine smell of sandalwood, or slightly exotic patchouli I had...
