Curler are best for my thick curly hair but my hair takes AGES to dry, so using a hair dryer is very tiring and tedious. This hooded hair dryer makes you look very scary but it works a treat - just sit doen read, do your nails , read a magazine watch TV (with subtitles as dryer is noisy) Hair totally dry glossy and curly in about 40mins. I use hollow heat retaining curlers

Okay for the price..., 5 Sept. 2014

I have Afro-Caribbean hair and needed this for deep conditioning treatments and its wonderful for that. I pop on a thin plastic shower cap over my hair before using it. Yet to use it with rollers.

PROS:

+Generates a good amount of heat,

+Two heat settings

CONS:

-Heats up your ears and the sides of your face! Not ideal if you want to use for more than 10 minutes. Can become very uncomfortable after a while as other reviewers have said. (The solution to this I've found is to roll up a towel, put it round your neck and fit the bottom part of the Hood around it. This creates a bit of distance between the Hood and your ears/face.

-Power cuts out sometimes. I've noticed that this only happens when the air vents on the bottom of the attachment become obstructed, causing it to overheat and I'm guessing some kind of safety switch to kick in. If your sitting down while using it, watch that the bottom of the attachment isn't sitting directly in your lap/covered by...

Easy to use hair Dryer., 14 Feb. 2010

I suppose that perhaps not many woman do "home set hair", but for those who do..this item is a Must. Easy to store, easy to use with two levels of heat.....so you can boost the heat for the first 10 minutes, lower the temperature, then settle down, in a comfy chair with a good book. Whilst my Sassoon is doing it's job I prefer catch up on my "Brain Training".Well worth the price and convenience,hands free.
