Great idea, bad clips, 12 Aug. 2014

Disappointed. Brilliant idea and I can see that it could look amazing if I could get it to grip. The slides on each end to secure it just aren't good enough, I can't get them to grip enough hair to stay put. Also the sectioning clips have no grip, they're just smooth. I realise they're only sectioning clips but the style would be neater and easier to do if they'd keep the sections in place. I think I can get it to work with a lot of pins, but I shouldn't have to really

Great idea, but I can't get it to actually attach - there are no actual instructions as to how the 'clips' work - it just says 'clip in'. I've tried it every which way but it just doesn't grip enough hair to hold it. The youtube video is no more help. It would be easier to do yourself with bobby pins. Wish I hadn't wasted my money. :-(

I am very pleased with the item. I agree with previous reviewer that sectioning clips provided are useless and do not hold the parted hair in place long enough to finish the hairstyle. But this is not a big deal as long as the roll itself is held in place securely.

The clips on the roll are the same that are used on hair extensions - with such rubbery grippy band on it and they stay well in my hair. I have thin long straight hair normally too slippery for any clips or grips, but these clips do the job. (I think I'm going to buy a few of those clips loose cos they are really handy!)

I have managed to recreate the hairstyle at once and am very pleased. I do struggle to hide the clips, but it can be done with a bit of practice or for more formal occasion ( maybe need to try bobby pins) But for casual wear I have no issues with clips showing, because the roll itself is well hidden.
