This is one seriously good bit of kit! I had professional IPL done at a clinic around 4 years ago - it was very expensive but I was pleased with the results. I never returned for any further treatments as I couldn't afford it (my then boyfriend payed for the first course which was well over a grand!). Gradually, bits of annoying hair have appeared back and I had to make a decision. The fact that technology has allowed this sort of device in the home is perfect for me and others who need a way to control hair-growth. This device feels like a quality, well built instrument and delivers the same power I experienced at the clinic. I've never gone past setting "3" and it goes to "5" so there's plenty of follicle-zapping power available!

I realise it's a hefty investment to make and I really had to do my homework to make sure this was the right device for me. There are a number of available gizmos including the Philips Lumea, Remmington, Gilette Venus and Rio Evolution to name a few...

The Silk'n Flash is a very good purchase, after a few treatments I started to notice a lot of change, a lot less hair growth. I've had it for two months and I am very pleased with the results. I will continue to use it until all the hair is gone.

Seeing a good difference in hair reduction!, 21 April 2014

So I purchased this item in December 2013 and on my second laser session the cartridge smashed! I presume it got overheated. I was a bit disappointed because if I had known the item can get overheated like this, I would have given it a break but since there was no warning, I didn't bother. Thankfully though, Amazon allowed me to return it and I repurchased it again because even from just two sessions, I had noticed a difference in my hair growth on my legs!

Just some background info on me - I have been using this to treat my legs, stomach and arms. I did try to treat my face and the machine does say you can use this there, however I have hirsutism meaning excessive facial hair, especially around my chin, jawline and neck. Shaving is NOT an option for me because the hair grows the next day and it is stubbly and gets thicker. I am getting professional laser done for that because I can not afford to be walking around with a stubbly chin because I'm using a laser which isn't...
